I’m excited and proud to have you join me in discussing one of my favorite passions—connecting with customers. Many who are reading this know me very well, however, I felt it would be helpful and add some context if I began with a brief introduction of my company, my business and professional experiences, and what I hope to accomplish with this blog.
It seems like everyone is creating a blog. Some are just doing it because it is the hot and trendy thing to do and I have to admit, that’s what prompted my interest. I mean, everyone has a blog, shouldn’t I have one?
Here is the important distinction. Everyone’s blog should begin with an opinion. It should have a point. I’m actually okay with everyone having a blog if they have a point to make or an opinion to express.
I've spent the past several months researching how organizations and educators are using virtual worlds and through this research, I have a greater appreciation for the power of presence.
Many people who utilize virtual worlds for business or educational purposes will say virtual worlds give you a sense of being present. The feeling that you are in the same room together, discussing and interacting with each other as if you were face-to-face (well almost). They'll describe it as immersive.
